An anti-human trafficking group, Devatop Centre For Human Development has again called on the Nigerian government and people to do more to ensure that the menace of human trafficking in the country was brought to an end.
The menace of human trafficking has continued to linger in Nigeria with the 2016 global slavery index revealing that about 27 million people have been trafficked overtime across the globe, and in Nigeria alone, 875,500 people have fallen victim to human traffickers over the years.
Katsina State Comptroller of the Nigeria Immigration Service, NIS, Mohammed Yaro, has disclosed that human traffickers now use motorcycles and donkeys to transport their victims from Nigeria to neighbouring countries in order to avoid being detected by security agents.
