Temporary setback… APC to appeal tribunal’s judgement on Osun election

THE All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State says it will appeal the judgement of the state’s election petitions tribunal which upturned the electoral victory of its candidate, Adegboyega Oyetola in the September 2018 gubernatorial election.

In a statement issued by the party’s state publicity secretary, Kunle Oyatomi, the APC stated that the decision of the tribunal cannot stand “superior legal scrutiny”.

“We are going to appeal the judgment by the grace of God and we are sure the judgment cannot stand,” he said.

“This is a temporary set back for us, we know, but we know this judgment will be overturned either by the Appeal Court or at the Supreme Court.

“There is no reason why anyone should fret at this point, we appeal to our supporters and members to be calm.”
