Claim that personal assistant to Commissioner for Special Duty in Osun State was caught with thumb-printed ballot is FALSE

A TWEET alleging that Lekan Badmus, the Personal Assistant to the Commissioner for Special Duties in Osun State has been caught with thumb-printed ballot papers in Ward 2, Osogbo Local Government Area of the state has circulated online.

The claim archived here and here stated that Lekan Badmus was caught with thumb-printed ballot in Osun State.

THE CLAIM

That Lekan Badmus, the Personal Assistant to the Commissioner for Special Duties in Osun State was caught with thumb-printed ballot papers.

THE FINDINGS

Findings by The FactCheckHub show that the claim is FALSE.




     

     

    Lekan Badmus is the current Osun State Commissioner for Regional Integration and Special Duties, not a personal assistant.

    He was one of the commissioners appointed by the current Osun State governor, Gboyega Oyetola in September 2019.

    Similarly, the commissioner, in a statement published by the Nigerian Tribune, said the claim is false.
