The ICIR also confirmed that the officials of the anti-graft agency were also seen at the venue of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP on its May 28 special convention.
Meanwhile, some political watchers described the visit of the EFCC operatives as a publicity stunt, stressing the importance of scientific monitoring of the accounts of party officials rather than a physical appearance at the venue.
“It is comical to see EFCC storm the convention venue physically. They know what to do to curb corruption in political parties and not just coming in here physically.” A politician and a right activist, Shehu Sani said.
