Ihonvbere, Edo SSG Resigns After Defeat In APC Primaries

Secretary to Edo State Government, Julius Ihonvbere, has resigned from his position.

Ihonvbere’s resignation is sequel to his defeat at the Edo North Senatorial District primary election of the All Progressive Party, APC, held on Monday,

He narrowly lost to Francis Alimehena, who polled 831 votes against his 815 votes.

A press statement issued and signed by the chief press secretary to the Edo State governor, Peter Okhiria, confirmed Ihonvbere’s resignation.

Okhiria said the governor has accepted the resignation.

According to the statement, the governor thanked Ihonvbere for his services to the Government and the state and also wished him well in his future endeavours.
