President Jonathan Sets Up Hand Over Committee

President Goodluck Jonathan has constituted a transition committee to liaise with the team of the President-elect, Muhammadu Buhari ,for the handing over of power on May 29.



The committee, which held its inaugural meeting today at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, is headed by Vice President Namadi Sambo.

Other members of the committee include the Secretary to the Federation, Pius Anyim, Attorney General, Mohammed Adoke; Minister of State for Finance, Bashir Yuguda; Head of Service, Danladi Kifasi, and the Director General of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, Paul Orhi, among others.




     

     

    The committee is expected to develop guidelines for handing over process on May 29 as well submit briefs covering all government activities to the committee to be set up by Buhari.

    At the end of the meeting, which held at the Vice President’s wing of the Presidential Viilla, Anyim said the body would meet again on April 20.

    “The term of reference of our own committee is to collate relevant information for the handover briefs from all the MDAs, prepare them and interface with the incoming administration’s transition committee. Ours it to collect our own hand over briefs, prepare the briefs and prepare,” Anyim stated.

    Buhari said at the weekend that he would equally set up a team of experts to review briefs from officials of the outgoing government.
