The re-run elections in Oru East, Isiala Mbano state constituencies and Okigwe North senatorial constituency in Imo State have been declared inconclusive.
The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Ibrahim Idris, has directed the Commissioners of Police in Imo and Kogi States to ensure proper coordination of security operations and adequate deployment of Police personnel, for the conduct of the re-run elections in the States.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, says it will deploy 5,603 personnel for outstanding rerun elections in Imo and Kogi states scheduled to hold this Saturday.
Justice C.H Ahuchogu of the Osisioma Ngwa Division of the Abia State High Court has ordered the Abia State Chief Judge, Justice Theresa Uzoekwe, not to Inaugurate Uche Ogah as the Governor of Abia State pending the determination of the Suit brought by Governor Okezie Ikpeazu.
The governor of Abia State, Okezie Ikpeazu, has said he will appeal the court judgment that ordered his removal from office and directed the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to cede the certificate of return to his opponent in the Primary Election, Uche Ogah.
The independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, will next week decide on which of the two factions of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, it will recognize.
