President Muhammadu Buhari has urged political stakeholders in Rivers State to ensure that Saturday’s legislative re-run election in the state is peaceful and orderly, adding that the election should not be treated as a do-or-die affair.
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to postpone the Ondo State Governorship election scheduled to hold next Saturday, November 26.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has announced that it has suspended further action with regards to the legislative re-run election in Rivers State, until it has received positive reports from its Field Officials and Monitors on the state of security in the affected constituencies.
Hundreds of protesters gathered at the headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, in Abuja, over the alleged production of fake election result sheets for the Rivers re-run elections.
