Earth Journalism Network offers fellowship for UN climate negotiations coverage

THE Climate Change Media Partnership (CCMP), led by Internews’ Earth Journalism Network, is accepting candidates for its fellowship to cover the UN climate negotiations.

The programme is slated for November 7, 2022, to November 18, 2022, in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

Journalists from  Latin America, the Caribbean, Africa and developing Asia are invited to apply for this program.

Applicants must have a good command of English to participate in the fellowship activities and provide a letter of support from an editor, producer or supervisor who can confirm that their news reports will be published or broadcast in an established media outlet.




     

     

    Fellows will receive airfare, accommodation, meals, and transportation.

    The organiser says: “Now in its 15th iteration since its launch in 2007, the CCMP has brought more than 400 journalists from low and middle-income countries to attend and report on the annual UN climate talks.

    “This has enabled journalists from around the world to cover the climate negotiations for their home audiences while benefiting from working alongside knowledgeable climate journalists and gaining a multifaceted understanding of the actions countries are taking or not taking to address climate change’s global impact”.

    The deadline for the submission of the application is July 4, 2022. Interested applicants can apply here.
