JIAS offers 2023 writing fellowship

THE Johannesburg Institute for Advanced Study (JIAS) is inviting applications to its Eight Writing Semester Fellowship.

The programme is slated for February 1, 2022, to May 31, 2023.

The fellowship provides a quiet space for work, reflection and academic community-building in Johannesburg.

Fellows will receive accommodation, breakfast and lunch, access to the facilities of the nearby University of Johannesburg, and a monthly stipend.

    Fellowships are open to any field of expertise, including novelists writing in indigenous languages. Previous fellows include academics, novelists, scientists, poets, playwrights, independent researchers and journalists.

    The deadline for the submission of the application is August 1, 2022. Interested persons can apply here.
