The Kano State government has announced the procurement of N100 million worth of medical equipment, furniture and other consumables for hospitals in the state.

The state Commissioner for Health, Kabir Ibrahim Getso, told journalists yesterday while inspecting the consignment at the state’s medical store, that the procured items will be distributed to some selected hospitals in the state.

According to Gesto, the state government’s decision to procure the equipment was part of efforts to revamp the health sector.

He further noted that problems faced by patients, especially during operations or delivery, would be reduced when the equipment is installed at the hospitals.

The equipment include operation tables, delivery beds, scanning machines, ultrasonic nebulizer, cardio monitor and other medical consumables.
