Reliable military sources said that the freed girls were accompanied on Saturday by officials of the International Committee of the Red Cross, ICRC, to Banki, a town in Borno State that shares a common border with Cameroun.
Apart rebuilding the school, other interventions will include teacher's training , provision of teaching aids and creation of a means of livelihood through empowerment of women and youths, said Tijani Tumsa, deputy chairman of the Presidential Committee on the North East Initiative, PCNI.
“We have reached out to their captors, through local and international intermediaries, and we are ever ready to do everything within our means to ensure the safe release of all the girls,” Buhari's spokesman, Femi Adesina said in a statement of Thursday.
